Got Milk is an American company that encourages people to drink more milk. It was created by Goodby Silverstein and Partners for the California Milk Processor Board. They believed that the calcium found inside the milk helped Americans get stronger. This ad shows
Superman with a milk mustache in the sky. The ad is trying to show us that through the many benefits milk has, you can grow stronger and soar above everyone like Superman.

I feel that this ad is very persuasive is because the man standing there with his arms crossed in the sky. That man is Superman, born on the planet Krypton and rocketed here to Earth, has superpowers like super strength, flying abilities, and X-Ray vision. the main power that is focused here is his super strength because Got Milk is trying to get across to Americans that milk makes you stronger and nothing is better than a man that was born with super strength on the front. This is important because kids see Superman as a hero that saves the day by throwing big heavy objects at his enemies and many want to be as strong as him. Furthermore, by allowing Superman to be on the front page of this ad, it makes kids want to drink milk to be just as strong as Superman is.

ReplyDeleteGreat reference to allude the got milk ad to superman! Strengthening the "powers" that come from drinking milk by using a powerful man
ReplyDeleteThe way you give history on super man and how kids look up to him is a great example to why kids would consume more milk.
ReplyDeleteMilk is one of my favorite things. Having Superman on the ad is just a nice bonus!
